“Use your difference to make a difference.” (Tayo Rockson)
I’ve worked as an intercultural trainer for over 15 years in Austria and the UK. I have delivered over 600 hours of intercultural lectures in the fields of International Business Administration, Engineering, Social Work and Education and over 100 company training/coaching sessions. I have worked in Austria, Switzerland, UK, Russia and India. I have conducted country specific training session on living and working in the UK, Germany and Austria. In India and Russia I facilitate cross-cultural learning beyond the textbook with mature students from Austria. I have thousands of hours of Business English and Presentation and Storytelling training under my belt
Before establishing a career in Intercultural Communication I worked in radio journalism (Blue Danube Radio, Vienna), teaching English as a foreign language to top execs from all over the world, bilingual education design and translation. I worked in the translation industry for many years and my experience in journalism helped me to transcreate interesting content, helping companies ensure that Austrian/German/ Swiss brands are well represented in English, localising media content to suit its audience.
“I had the opportunity to work closely with Vanessa for a one-week training program on intercultural communication. In such a short time, she was able to guide me into this relatively unknown world, giving me valuable communication tools and extremely useful hints and suggestions on how to approach discussions and negotiations with people having different cultural background. Thanks to her support, I am now constantly developing my communication skills, reaching positive outcome from any interaction with people from all around the world.”
