Jürgen Fichtenau

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” (Mark Twain)

I have 20 years of experience in development cooperation in Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia and China. Since 2017 I work as a certified Intercultural Trainer with clients, who plan to work abroad and get prepared for a different cultural environment or who simply wish to learn more about cultural identity, stereotypes, communication skills etc. in an international environment. Due to my previous assignments in very different cultures, I strongly believe that I have lots of experiences to share with interested clients, who need to adapt to intercultural settings, challenges and opportunities. As in the quotation from Mark Twain, I strongly believe that one’s life should not be ruled by fears, but that one should try to leave the ‘safe harbour’ in order to explore more of this world, to do new things and to learn more of one’s personal strengths and limitations.
