Are you ready for a mind shift?

I’m here to support you as you move forward with your Intercultural business, career, and travels. I love theories and can give you lots of tips and tricks to analyze your own situation so that you can move beyond the paradigm you think you’re in. The heart of my approach to intercultural communication started with language learning and linguistics at a young age. As I lived and worked abroad, my studies branched out into the fields of translation, communication, conflict resolution, mental toughness, and eventually leadership studies. I am a university instructor in the field of intercultural communication and have also worked extensively with both government and non-government organizations (NGOs). I lived abroad for a total of 12 years. Countries lived and worked in include Germany, Japan, the UK, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), the USA. I speak varying degrees of English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish and Arabic and look forward to spending time with you to help you with the culture that you need to learn about.

Additional work experience

In my past career, I was a translator in Japanese and German. I also worked extensively during my undergraduate degree on indigenous languages of North America. This included work with members of the Blackfoot nation transcribing the language that was stolen from them so long ago. I currently fulfill my language love by organizing events for polyglots, language groups, and the international crowd in my city.

What people say about me

“Dianne offered valuable insight into my cross-cultural workplace dynamics which helped me to understand how to manage my team better. Dianne was also able to point out areas which I had never considered before. In the future, I’ll be much more confident about how to deal with difficult work situations and reduce stress.
Laura Gillespie (EP), Project Manager

“Dianne’s insights propelled me much further and much faster in my coaching athletes and rehabilitating patients. They accompany daily in my biopsychosocial academic research, showing me the forest so I can fully see the trees. This is crucial in my work because understanding where people are coming from better helps me get them where they want to go.”
